Plagiarism Policy

Datokarama English Education Journal is firmly committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. All submitted manuscripts must represent original work. Authors are responsible for ensuring that any use of the ideas, words, data, or findings of others is properly acknowledged through accurate citation and quotation practices.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the presentation of another person’s work, whether published or unpublished, in whole or in part, as one’s own without proper attribution. The following are considered forms of plagiarism, including but not limited to:

  • Submitting another person’s work, in part or in full, under one’s own name

  • Copying or closely paraphrasing substantial sections of another work without proper citation

  • Reusing text or data from previous publications (self-plagiarism) without disclosure

  • Fabricating or misrepresenting sources, data, or research findings

  • Using AI-generated content without acknowledgment or critical authorship justification (if applicable)

Similarity Screening

All submitted manuscripts will be screened for similarity using Turnitin.

  • Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references and quotes) will be returned to the author for revision or clarification.

  • Any submission found to contain deliberate or unethical plagiarism will be immediately rejected.

  • In severe or repeated cases, authors may be prohibited from submitting to deejournal in the future.

Editorial Procedure

If plagiarism is detected at any stage, prior to, during, or after peer review, the editorial team will take appropriate action. This may include:

  • Rejection of the manuscript

  • Notification to the authors’ affiliated institution(s)

  • Retraction of the published article (if applicable), with an accompanying statement of misconduct

Author Responsibility

By submitting to Datokarama English Education Journal, authors confirm that their manuscript is free from plagiarism and that all sources are fully acknowledged. Authors are encouraged to verify originality through plagiarism detection tools prior to submission.
