Article Processing Charge (APC) and Related Policies

Submission Fee

0 IDR. The journal does not charge any fee for manuscript submission or during the peer-review process.

Publication Fee (APC)

2,500,000 IDR. The Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

The APC covers the full cost of editorial and production services, including:

  • editorial handling and peer-review management
  • copyediting and proofreading
  • article typesetting and layout
  • DOI registration
  • online hosting and open-access dissemination

No additional charges apply for color figures, tables, or supplementary materials.

General Payment Policy

All payments are processed manually after formal acceptance. Authors must not make any payment prior to receiving an official notification and payment instructions from the editorial office. Editorial decisions are made independently of, and are not influenced by, any payment.

Payment Eligibility

The APC is required only under the following condition:

  • The manuscript has received a final decision: Accepted

Manuscripts under review, revision, or declined are not subject to any publication fee (APC). This policy applies specifically to publication charges and does not include administrative fees related to manuscript withdrawal (see Withdrawal Policy below).

Payment Procedure

Step 1 — Payment Notification
The editorial office will send an official email including:

  • manuscript title and ID
  • total APC amount (or reduced amount if a waiver has been granted)
  • payment deadline (no later than 14 calendar days from the date of notification, unless otherwise agreed with the editorial office)
  • bank account details

Step 2 — Waiver Request (if applicable)
Authors intending to request a partial or full waiver must submit their request before proceeding to payment, in accordance with the Waiver Policy below. Waiver decisions will be communicated within 7 working days.

Step 3 — Payment Transfer
Authors must transfer the exact amount (as confirmed after any waiver decision) via:

  • bank transfer (recommended)
  • other approved methods (if applicable)

All transfer-related charges must be borne by the author.

Step 4 — Proof of Payment Submission
Authors must submit proof of payment (receipt or screenshot), including:

  • manuscript ID
  • corresponding author's name
  • date of payment
  • amount transferred

Step 5 — Verification
Payment will be verified within 1–3 working days. Upon verification, an official payment receipt/invoice will be issued, and the manuscript will proceed to:

  • copyediting
  • layout
  • final publication

Waiver Policy

The journal is committed to equitable access to publication opportunities. Authors may request a partial or full waiver of the APC under the following conditions:

  • authors from low- or lower-middle-income regions/institutions with documented budget constraints
  • early-career researchers with limited funding
  • demonstrated financial hardship
  • invited manuscripts or special issues (at the discretion of the editorial board)

Waiver requests must be submitted after acceptance and before payment, accompanied by supporting justification, and are subject to editorial evaluation and available resources. The editorial board's decision on waiver requests is final.

Refund Policy

APC payments are refundable only if a refund request is submitted before the manuscript enters the production stage (i.e., before copyediting, typesetting, or DOI registration has begun). Once production has commenced, all APC payments are non-refundable.

Exceptions may be considered only in the following cases, regardless of production status:

  • duplicate payments
  • technical or administrative errors in payment processing

All refund requests must be submitted in writing with supporting documentation and will be reviewed individually by the editorial office.

Withdrawal Policy

Authors are expected to submit manuscripts with a clear intention to complete the publication process. Frequent or late-stage withdrawals place an unnecessary burden on the editorial team, reviewers, and the journal's resources. If a manuscript is withdrawn after the peer-review process has begun, the journal will impose a review administration fee as outlined below, to compensate for the editorial handling and reviewer effort already undertaken. This administrative fee is separate from, and independent of, the APC.

All withdrawal requests must be submitted formally and in writing to the editorial office, stating the manuscript ID, title, and reason for withdrawal. The editorial office will confirm the applicable stage and fee (if any) within 7 working days; the withdrawal is only considered final upon written confirmation from the editorial office.

Withdrawal Stages & Fees:

  • Stage 1 (Submission to Pre-Review): Free of charge, if requested before the manuscript is sent to reviewers (typically within 7 days of submission).
  • Stage 2 (During Peer Review): A Reimbursement for Administrative Costs of 550,000 IDR, covering time spent by the secretariat and editors.
  • Stage 3 (After Acceptance/In Press): A withdrawal fee of 1,100,000 IDR, covering the costs of peer review management, layout editing, and DOI registration preparation.

(Note: nilai di atas adalah konversi perkiraan dari 30 USD dan 60 USD sebelumnya, dibulatkan agar konsisten dengan mata uang APC. Jurnal berhak menetapkan nominal final sesuai kebijakan internal.)

Withdrawal fees must be paid within 14 days of the editorial office's written confirmation. Failure to pay may result in the manuscript being held in pending-withdrawal status and may restrict the corresponding author from submitting future manuscripts until the fee is settled.

A manuscript withdrawn at Stage 3 may not be submitted to another journal until the withdrawal process is fully completed and confirmed in writing, in accordance with standard publication ethics (COPE guidelines). Withdrawals due to identified errors, ethical concerns, or plagiarism are handled under the journal's separate Retraction and Correction Policy, not this Withdrawal Policy.

The editorial board reserves the right to waive or adjust withdrawal fees in exceptional and documented circumstances, subject to approval by the Editor-in-Chief.

Important Notes

  • Payment does not influence editorial decisions.
  • Publication will proceed only after payment has been confirmed and an official receipt/invoice issued.
  • Late payment may delay publication or result in cancellation of the publication process.
  • This policy is established to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with international best practices in scholarly publishing, including standards recommended by DOAJ and COPE.
