Focus and Scope
Datokarama English Education Journal (DEEJournal) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that publishes original research in English Language Education and English Applied Linguistics. The journal provides a scholarly platform for advancing theoretical and empirical studies related to English language learning, English language teaching, and the use of English in educational, institutional, professional, and social contexts.
The journal is committed to promoting high-quality research that contributes to the development of English language education theory and practice, as well as the broader study of English as used, learned, taught, and assessed in diverse contexts.
DEEJournal welcomes contributions from researchers, educators, and practitioners worldwide in the form of empirical studies, theoretical papers, literature reviews, and pedagogical innovations.
Scope of the Journal
The journal focuses on two main areas:
1. English Language Education
This area includes research on English language teaching and learning processes, curriculum design, instructional practices, teacher education, assessment and evaluation, English language teaching (ELT), TESOL/TEFL methodologies, English for Specific Purposes, English for Academic Purposes, multilingual and bilingual education involving English, and the use of technology in English language learning environments.
2. English Applied Linguistics
This area covers applied linguistic studies that are clearly related to the English language, English language education, or the use of English in educational and social contexts. It includes, but is not limited to, English phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, corpus linguistics, second language acquisition, language testing and assessment, and English use in institutional, professional, intercultural, and digital communication contexts.
Manuscripts in applied linguistics that do not show a clear connection to the English language, English language education, or the use of English in relevant educational, professional, or social contexts are considered outside the journal’s scope.
Editorial Policy
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by at least two independent reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s Focus and Scope.
The journal upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and is committed to transparency, academic integrity, and open-access dissemination of knowledge.
