Focus and Scope

Datokarama English Education Journal (DEEJournal) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that publishes original research in English language education and applied linguistics. The journal provides a scholarly platform for advancing theoretical and empirical studies related to language learning, teaching, and the use of English in educational contexts.

The journal is committed to promoting high-quality research that contributes to the development of language education theory and practice, as well as the broader field of applied linguistics.

DEEJournal welcomes contributions from researchers, educators, and practitioners worldwide in the form of empirical studies, theoretical papers, literature reviews, and pedagogical innovations.


Scope of the Journal

The journal focuses on two main areas:

1. English Language Education and Pedagogy

This area includes research on language teaching and learning processes, curriculum design, instructional practices, teacher education, assessment and evaluation, English language teaching (ELT), TESOL/TEFL methodologies, English for specific and academic purposes, multilingual and bilingual education, and the use of technology in language learning environments.


2. Applied Linguistics

This area covers the study of language structure and use in both educational and social contexts. It includes, but is not limited to, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, corpus linguistics, and second language acquisition.


Editorial Policy

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by at least two independent reviewers. Editorial decisions are based on academic quality, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
